1- Baatara Waterfalls (Tannourine)
There is no other place in Lebanon quite like the Baatara Gorge Waterfall. Strap on your backpack and hike to the site, as this waterfall should be on your bucket list. Be careful, however, as the stones are slippery.
The best time to visit is in March or April when the waterfall is supplied by the melting of winter snow in the mountains.
2- Our Lady of Lebanon (Harrisa)
Overlooking the bay of Jounieh, the shrine of Our Lady has become a major tourist attraction where tourists take the lift (Téléphérique), from the city of Jounieh to Harissa. On top of the hill you can get one of the best views on the Lebanese coast!
3- The Cedars Forest (Arz)
Known as Cedars of God, these monumental trees are one of the last vestiges of the extensive forests of the Lebanon cedar that anciently thrived across Mount Lebanon.
Located just eight kilometres from Bcharre, The Cedars is one of Lebanon’s most beautiful nature reserves and home to the oldest Cedar Forest.
4- The Sandy Beaches of Tyre
Tyre Beach is located on the south coast of Lebanon and is the main public beach of Tyre, the 4th biggest city of Lebanon. This is one of the best beaches in the country, on par with the resorts of the Mediterranean in both beauty and comfortableness. Tyre is one of the cities that best exemplifies the diversity of Lebanon and its population.
5- The Temple of Baalback
Baalbek is a city located east of the Litani River in Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley, Baalbek was also known as Heliopolis “Sun City ” which makes It a perfect place to visit in Lebanon in the Summer.
It is home to the Baalbek temple complex which includes two of the largest and grandest Roman temple ruins: the Temple of Bacchus and the Temple of Jupiter. It was inscribed in 1984 as an UNESCO World Heritage site.
6- Beiteddine Palace
Beiteddine Palace is one of the highlights of the Chouf Mountains. This restored 19th-century gem features sumptuous interiors, views over the surrounding hills and an important archaeological collection.
In the summer, it’s the venue of a well-known arts festival. The village is around 50km southeast of Beirut.
7- Pigeon Rocks (Rawshe)
No visit to Lebanon can be complete without visiting the majestic Pigeon Rocks of Rawshe! Locals love to walk along the corniche (seaside promenade) at any time of day, but during sunset it is especially busy. Be sure to go early and stroll the corniche, before finding your perfect spot for viewing the spectacular sunset!
